about
‘Queen’ is layered with dreamy synth, galactic spacey leads, paired with heavy bass and smooth vocals that carry a pinch of grit. The song itself is about struggling with anxiety, depression and self worth, both in relationships and in a society that fears anything outside of the cultural norm. “I thought I should be dead, so I tried it, prayed to the monsters underneath my bed, but their hiding”. The battle of being alone, feeling deserving of that and its effects on an anxious heart.
“I could be your queen, but you don’t want me”.
lyrics
Thought I should be dead so I tried it.
Prayed to the monsters underneath my bed but they’re hiding.
So I tipped the bottle back, I like it.
My lips soaking wet, so silent.
If I fall right down would I let you take me home.
If I fall right down would I let you take me home.
I could be your queen, but you don’t want me, you don’t want me.
I could be your queen, but you don’t want me, you don’t want me.
So i’ll leave it alone.
Thought I should be alone, so I went for it.
Stumbled through the woods picked up sticks and scratched out my eyelids.
I called out for you ‘cause I thought it was best.
You whispered I can't love you, there's nothing left.
If I fall right down would I let you take me home.
If I fall right down would I let you take me home.
I could be your queen, but you don’t want me, you don’t want me.
I could be your queen, but you don’t want me, you don’t want me.
So i’ll leave it alone.
